Puerto Galera budget travel guide
Puerto Galera is a four hour bus and boat ride out of Manila. The bus passes the Enchanted Kingdom as it snakes its way toward Batangas
and the ferry port to Mindoro
![]() Coco beach Puerto Galera
The best place to stay is at Tina's Upstairs on Sabang seafront. Turn left as you disembark the boat and Tina's is located 200 meters down the coast. Rooms with colour TV. Fridge and bath are 300 pesos per night. There's hammocks on the balcony to laze your afternoons away on with a great view of the coast.
![]() Sabang beach Puerto Galera
Sabang beach itself is quite unimpressive but further along the coast is Big La Laguna beach and Coco beach. The latter is ideal for snorkelling and equipment (fins, mask etc.) can be hired from the sari stores on the seafront.
![]() Without doubt one of the best most economical places to eat in Sabang is at Sabang Fast-food. Friendly staff and cleanliness make this fully-fledged restraunt the best culinary experience in Sabang
You can hire a 200cc Trials bike for $14 a day ... Some places charges $25+ (enquire at THE PUB) in the heart of Sabang village
THE PUB has the best selection of rock music a great sound system, draught beer
and a very friendly cat called Kat.
![]() About 12km west of Sabang is White beach. Typical Philippine beach scene with lots of mini bars and a healthy population of hawkers selling jewellery pearls and fake Rolex watches. Plenty of transvestites in evidence here as well
Lots of available rooms here but they're quite expensive in terms of what you get compared to Tina's Upstairs on Sabang seafront.
White beach makes a good day trip out of Sabang.
